Archaeology

The area of proposed development lies within the historic landscape characterised as the Gulf Oil Refinery. The proposed positions of the four wind turbines and associated infrastructure do not appear, according to the old maps and photos consulted, to be located close to any known features of significant archaeological interest. Many surveys were undertaken for previous developments on the site, which indicate that there are no potential sites of archaeological interest within the wind farm area. Nonetheless, we will ensure that any excavations are monitored.
